About Me

My name is Jaewook Lee. (In English, I go by David.) I am an (incoming) PhD student at Stanford EE (starting at Sep 2025). I have earned a Master's degree in Artificial intelligence at KAIST AI, where I was extremely fortunate to be advised by Prof. Chulhee Yun. Beforehand, I completed my B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (Double Major) at KAIST.

Topics of Interest

I am interested in various topics in optimization theory, including convex/nonconvex & stochastic optimization algorithms and applications to practical settings in ML/AI. Recently I am particularly interested in Wasserstein gradient flows and its applications to deep learning theory. I am also interested in minimax optimization and similar topics like control/operator theory & variational inequalities, multi-player games & multi-agent learning, and block coordinate descent algorithms. I am also always excited to learn more about any other interesting optimization, ML/AI theory, or random math-related topics!
